How It All Started

I grew up on Long Island, New York — close enough to the city to be inspired by it, and close enough to the water that summer basically meant living in swim shorts. Between beach days, boats, and weekends out east, swimwear was something I wore constantly, not just on vacation.

Over time, I noticed the same problem everywhere: swim shorts that looked good but felt cheap, or comfortable ones that looked sloppy. Nothing really worked for everyday life. So I decided to make my own.

Burnt Butter is built around clean design, proper fit, and materials that actually matter. Our swim shorts are made from recycled plastic bottles, turning waste into something you can wear every day — in the water, on the boardwalk, or out to grab food after. Sustainability isn’t a buzzword here; it’s just part of doing things the right way.

What started as an idea from a kid in New York turned into a brand focused on quality, responsibility, and simplicity. No loud logos. No overdone trends. Just swimwear designed to fit well, feel better, and last longer.
